On November 8th, The Baltimore Ravens hosted the inaugural Maryland state championship playoff for girls' flag football at M&T Bank Stadium.
This season was a great success and saw participation from 12 Baltimore City Schools from across the district, including:
Academy for College and Career Exploration
Carver Vocational-Technical High School
Digital Harbor High School
Edmondson-Westside High School
Forest Park High School
Frederick Douglass High School
Green Street Academy
Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School
Patterson High School
Paul Laurence Dunbar High School
Reginald F. Lewis
Western High School
Following the Baltimore City Championship game on Wednesday, November 6th, at Mervo, where Dunbar defeated Patterson, Dunbar and Patterson were invited to represent City Schools at M&T Bank Stadium in the playoff tournament. Though they put up a good fight, Dunbar ultimately lost to Urbana in the quarterfinal, and Patterson lost to Boonsboro in a tough matchup that went into overtime.
This was a great season that showed a lot of promise for the future of girls' flag football here in Baltimore, and we are excited to watch these programs grow!
